BIPO’s new season, which will be full of surprises, opens with a world premiere. At this season’s first concert, BIPO audiences will meet with world-famous pianist and composer Fazıl Say’s Symphony no.6, “A 100-Year-Old Child”, a new work commissioned by Borusan Sanat, at its world premiere. Fazıl Say, who has had a very active and productive tour programme throughout the past season while continuing to work on his new compositions, has meticulously written this symphony, which is likely to be remembered among his masterpieces, for BIPO. Can Okan, who will be conducting the orchestra at the opening concert, continues to enrich himself with his works on the philosophical foundations of music. In addition to his polyphonic music and opera repertoire, which he has mastered at local and international concerts, Okan contributes to our contemporary music with the work he carries out together with Fazıl Say. In this magnificent premiere to be performed by Fazıl Say, BIPO will pay homage to the golden years of polyphonic music with Piano Concerto no.21 by Mozart, the master composer of all time.
