Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) enters the 2025/26 season with a program of exceptional richness, extending a warm welcome to music lovers. The orchestra will share the stage with distinguished conductors and soloists from both the national and international music scene. The season will open on October 9 under the baton of Carlo Tenan, featuring the unique artistry of pianist Ilya Maximov.

This season, BIPO will perform at the Lütfi Kırdar Asım Kocabıyık Anatolian Auditorium, appearing alongside its Honorary Conductor Gürer Aykal and Principal Conductor Carlo Tenan, as well as renowned figures of classical music such as Christoph Eschenbach and Barbara Hannigan. The program further includes performances conducted by Europe’s promising conductors Martijn Dandeviel and František Macek.

The opening concert will feature the world premiere of Five Songs from Shkodër, a new work commissioned by BIPO from the Italian composer Paolo Marzocchi. This work, which brings together elements of traditional Italian music with the musical heritage of Southern Europe, will inaugurate the season in remarkable style.

Throughout the season, BIPO will present 12 concerts, joined by prominent soloists, including Ilya Maxsimov (piano), Marc Coppey (violoncello), Jan Lisiecki (piano), Maria Meerovitch (piyano), Omar Tomasoni (trumpet), François-Frédérick Guy (piano), Ferhat Can Büyük (piano), Daniel Hope (violin), Salih Can Gevrek (piano) and Koro İstanbul under the direction of Kübra Şenyaylar.

The closing concert on May 14 will be conducted by Carlo Tenan and will feature Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, performed with soloists Enkeleda Kamani (soprano), Deniz Uzun (mezzosoprano), İlker Arcayürek (tenor), Li Huanhong (bass), together with the Transylvania State Philharmonic Choir under the direction of Cornel Groza.
