Celebrating Our 25th Year: BIPO Launches Its New Season...

On the 25th year of BIPO, 9 season concerts await music lovers; Borusan Quartet will be performing 8 concerts on both banks of the Bosporus and hosting award-winning Turkish virtuosos as well as world-known musicians.

During the 2024/25 season, BIPO will be sharing the stage of the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Center with Hélène Walter, Alena Baeva, Chloe Ji-Yeong Mun, Marco Vergini, Marlis Petersen, Enrico Pace, Jan Mráček, Çağ Erçağ, Can Çakmur and Ziyu He. Our guest conductors for the season will be Laurence Equilbey and Nil Venditti.  

Season Opening Concert with Hélène Walter
At the BIPO’s Opening Concert, we welcome a soprano renowned for her exceptional musicality and stage maturity: Hélène Walter. A versatile artist with a wide-ranging repertoire for early Baroque to contemporary music, Walter will grace the season’s opening with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra.

A Concert Dedicated to Mozart
Classical music lovers are in for a feast at this concert comprised solely of Mozart’s compositions. Gürer Aykal will be conducting BIPO accompanying pianist Chloe Ji-Yeong Mun. The concert where K 482 Piano Concerto, K 335/320a Two Marches and Symphony in C Major will be performed is a tribute to the grand master of classical music.

A Memorable New Year’s Concert!
BIPO greets the new year with Marlis Petersen, one of the greatest stars of the opera scene. Renowned for captivating audiences worldwide with her performances in concerts and operas, Petersen will perform Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, filled with hope and excitement. Under the baton of Carlo Tenan, the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra will enrich the tradition of New Year’s concerts with an indelible performance featuring the music of Barber, Gershwin, and Bernstein.

Seasoned and young stars of the classical music world...
In the new season, BIPO will be hosting Enrico Pace, Can Çakmur, Jan Mráček, Çağ Erçağ and Ziyu He. At the beginning of March, BIPO under the direction of Carlo Tenan will perform works by Mozart and Schumann. In this concert piano virtuoso Enrico Pace will present the audience with an extraordinary rendition of Schumann’s A minor Piano Concerto.

In March, the renowned conductor Nil Venditti, who propelled her illustrious international career to new heights with her outstanding achievements, will conduct the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra. Sharing the stage will be Jan Mráček, known for his extraordinary musicality, Can Çakmur, one of Turkey's most talented and accomplished young pianists, and Çağ Erçağ, who has earned both national and international acclaim. Together, they will present a programme filled with musical masterpieces.

In May, BIPO under the direction of our artistic director and principal conductor Carlo Tenan will meet violinist Ziyu He and present a selection from Walton, Britten, Wagner, and Mahler.

Borusan Quartet is on both sides of Istanbul!
At four concerts taking place at Kadıköy Municipality Süreyya Opera House, the Borusan Quartet presents a grand selection from their season programme, featuring works by beloved chamber music composers such as Schumann, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Franck, Debussy, and Hermann. Borusan Quartet will meet their audience at the ENKA İbrahim Betil Auditorium with the same programme as the concerts they gave at the Süreyya Opera House. Borusan Quartet’s guests for the next season include successful pianist Özgür Aydın, percussionist Müşfik Uzun and clarinet virtuoso Reto Bieri.

We’re keeping the music alive on radio and digital platforms. All the BIPO and Borusan Quartet concerts will be broadcast live on Radio Borusan Klasik and will be available to you starting from the first weeks of October. Our digital platform borusansanat.tv will resume streaming from January.
