The Nova Muzak series, realised in collaboration with Kod Music, is back at the Borusan Music House! The 32nd Nova Muzak series will be featuring Brom. Brom is one of the most prominent ensembles of the new generation of the Russian avant-garde jazz/improvisational music scene. The ensemble, which had begun its musical career as a trio, expanded its cast with the addition of Felix Mikenskiy on electronics and keyboards. The ensemble, which has released six studio albums to date, describes their music as “no-jazz” as a way of underlining what remains outside the framework of this great tradition. According to saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, a big fan of the band who has played in past Nova Muzaks, “you can hear the music of Black Sabbath, Zu!, NoMeansNo, James Chance, Swans, Charles Mingus at the same time in Brom’s music.” Brom, who recorded with Japanese trumpet master Toshinori Kondo last year, is meeting with the Borusan Music House audience for the first time.
