SA.NE.NA FEAT. CHRISTIAN BENNING WITH MIAM PERCUSSION

German percussion soloist Christian Benning teams up with Istanbul’s percussion group sa.ne.na to present a vibrant evening of music at Borusan Music House. To honor the 2022 celebrations of Iannis Xenakis, they present Okho with a unique setup of Turkish percussion instruments. The soundscape of Istanbul is explored in a new work by Amy Salsgiver for field recordings and live performers. Christian Benning uses light to tell the story of Casey Cagelosi’s solo work, Bad Touch. The highlight of the evening is Paul Lansky’s work, Threads, a post-minimalist masterpiece that fills the stage with traditional percussion instruments and collections of noise-sounds. Joined by MIAM Percussion, this is a night not to be missed.
