YURI HONING QUARTET

Yuri Honing is an artist who spends his time searching for the essence of life and music... Honing, one of the most important saxophonists in the Netherlands, has deepened his search and understanding throughout his 30-year career, and in 2015, with his award-winning album Desire, he created a new sound for his quartet and presented it to his audience. Honing has an extremely rich discography, he has performed in many countries and has also worked with the likes of Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ibrahim Malouf, Craig Taborn and Paul Bley. The Edison Jazz and Boy Edgar awards winner saxophonist has created a unique style based on jazz, pop and non-Western musical traditions. Yuri Honing and his quartet are coming to İstanbul with their latest album Bluebeard, which has received full marks from critics. Extremely lyrical, meditative and uplifting, Bluebeard is a beautiful addition to Honing’s impressive discography and a high point in the quartet’s progress so far... at Borusan Music House!
