Joyce DiDonato had gained great admiration at the opening concert of the 2016-2017 season and had expressed her desire to meet with the BIPO audience again. The diva will be on stage with BIPO under the direction of Carlo Tenan, with a selection of works by Hector Berlioz and Richard Strauss considered their best in terms of the music-text relationship. Multi-Grammy Award winner and 2018 Olivier Award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Opera, Joyce DiDonato has been described as “a transformative presence in the arts”, has been proclaimed “perhaps the most potent female singer of her generation” by the New Yorker, and as having a voice “nothing less than 24-carat gold” according to the Times. Praised for her brave interpretations, her passion for connecting with the audience and as a unique source of inspiration, DiDonato continues to enchant her audience with her wide-ranging repertoire of deeply meaningful works from the Baroque period to the 19th century as well as her Händel, Wagner and Berlioz recordings.
