In this February concert, one of which BIPO will share the stage with violin virtuosos who are applauded worldwide, we will meet with Midori, who is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her art career in 2022. Midori made her public debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11. She has worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Harding, Paavo Järvi and Mariss Jansons, and has performed with the well-established ensembles Boston Symphony, Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and many more. Last season, Midori had performed Detlev Glanert’s Violin Concerto no.2, a new work co-commissioned by BIPO, with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She will present this striking works to the audience, this time accompanied by BIPO. Carlo Tenan will conduct BIPO at the concert, where Brahms’s Symphony no.2, one of the most beloved works in the history of symphonies, will also be performed.
