As always, BIPO’s traditional New Year’s concert will be at the top of the music agenda this season. Opera will meet with BIPO audiences at the New Year’s concert, Nino Machaidze and Jonathan Tetelman will be on stage as soloists. Machaidze enchanted audiences with her performance at the Salzburg Festival in 2008 with her performance as Juliette in the new production of Romeo et Juliette and has since taken her place among the top soloists of the art of opera with her success in La Scala, The Metropolitan, Opera National de Paris and Deutsche Oper Berlin. The Georgian-born artist, who graduated from Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, continues to win critical acclaims for her performances on world-famous stages. Jonathan Tetelman, described as “a total star” by The New York Times and as “a lyrical revelation” by the prestigious opera world publication Ölyrix, is an artist who has become the focus of opera lovers with his mastery in interpreting Puccini. After San Francisco, Houston, Dresden, Berlin and Vienna, he will be on stage in İstanbul with a repertoire he has mastered. A magnificent programme consisting of the unique works of Verdi, Puccini, Giordano, Massenet, Cilea and Catalani awaits us at the concert, where Carlo Tenan will conduct the orchestra.
