As always, BIPO’s traditional New Year’s concert will be at the top of the music agenda this season. Opera will meet with BIPO audiences at the New Year’s concert, where two shining stars, Marina Rebeka and Jonathan Tetelman, will be on stage as soloists. Rebeka enchanted audiences with her performance at the Salzburg Festival in 2009 and has since taken her place among the top soloists of the art of opera with her success in La Scala, The Metropolitan, Covent Garden and the Vienna Opera House. Rebeka, who has gained admiration not only on the opera stage but also with her piano accompaniment recitals and albums, was awarded the ICMA Award “Artist of the Year” in 2020. Jonathan Tetelman, described as “a total star” by The New York Times and as “a lyrical revelation” by the prestigious opera world publication Ölyrix, is an artist who has become the focus of opera lovers with his mastery in interpreting Puccini. After San Francisco, Houston, Dresden, Berlin and Vienna, he will be on stage in İstanbul with a repertoire he has mastered. A magnificent programme consisting of the unique works of Verdi, Purccini, Giordano ve Catalani awaits us at the concert, where Carlo Tenan will conduct the orchestra.
