Borusan Music House opens its new season with one of the leading supporters and performers of contemporary music. Representing the high technical level and the sound quality that is associated with Viennese musical culture, the ensemble of soloists, of which Ernst Krenek said was “more than a pleasure to listen to each one individually and together” will be our first guest! EXXI will be at Borusan Music House on November 9th with the Turkish premieres of the works that commissioned by the ensemble to Onur Türkmen and Petra Stump-Linshalm. This concert will be held in cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum.

Established by Peter Burwik in 1971, the ensemble XXI. jahrhundert has been considered one of Austria’s most well-established and leading music groups in the field of contemporary music for more than 50 years. Its aim is to make music of the 20th century known and to support contemporary creative work in the 21st century. For that purpose, several domestic and foreign composers have been and continue to be commissioned. The ensemble’s aesthetic spectrum extends to the important representatives of contemporary music such as Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Morton Feldmann, Ernst Krenek, Arvo Pärt, Steve Reich, Kaija Saariaho, Karlheinz Stockhausen, as well as the repertoire of The Second Viennese School. ensemble XXI. jahrhundert has been guest at numerous national and international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Wiener Festwochen, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Enescu Festival in Bucharest- and Spring Festival 2019 in Shanghai.
