Hezarfen Ensemble has signed many projects in which it has proven to be exceptionally flexible in adapting to different situations and conditions. From small chamber music ensembles to large orchestras; from integrations between different artistic fields ranging from electronics, literature and visual arts to dance, music theatre and live video; with contributions in many areas from interdisciplinary stage productions and intercultural initiatives to pedagogical and music-theoretical ventures, Hezarfen is radically transforming the contemporary music life in its native Turkey.
Hezarfen Ensemble, which met the audience at Borusan Music House many times, will be performing a Turkish premiere of Yiğit Özatalay’s work Isn’t There, There Is, which had its world premiere in Bristol in 2022. The work composed based on a poem of Edip Cansever, one of the leading names of contemporary Turkish poetry. According to Özatalay Isn’t There, There Is is a musical interpretation of this poem. In addition to the premiere, Hezarfen will be performing the works of Francesco Filidei, Özkan Manav and Deniz Güngören.
