The Noise Istanbul Festival meets its audience again after a two-year hiatus. Noise music originates from Italian futurist artist Luigi Russolo’s pioneering work in 1913 and has a broad definition ranging from early electronic musicians to contemporary sound artists. Noise music is a multi-layered musical genre that forms close ties with electronic, industrial, experimental, improvised, etc. music, as well as performance, installation, video, and sound art. Due to its progressive approach, it appears at the very beginning of the history of electronic music while it is also the endpoint of contemporary music.
The foundations of Noise Istanbul were laid in 1999 by the experimental musician focusing on noise music, Batur Sönmez. The international Noise Istanbul Festival, the first of which was held in 2019, was a great success. We invite you to Borusan Music House to experience new and unique music at Türkiye’s only noise music festival.
