  • İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı’nın Borusan Sanat’ın ev sahipliğinde düzenlediği “Leyla Gencer: Primadonna ve Yalnızlık” sergisi, ölümünün onuncu yıldönümünde büyük soprano Leyla Gencer’in yaşamına samimi bir bakış sunarken sanatçının incelikli, duygu dolu kişiliğine saygı duruşunda bulunuyor. Prof. Yekta Kara’nın, Leyla Gencer’in kişisel eşyalarından hazırladığı özel bir seçkiyi, büyük sopranomuzun yaşamının farklı kesitlerinden kayıtlarla bir araya getirdiği sergi, 10 Eylül–11 Ekim 2018 tarihleri arasında Borusan Müzik Evi’nde.

    Siri Hustvedt’s novel What I Loved begins with a scene where art historian Leo watches a nude painting. This painting, explained at lengths and with details, belongs to artist Bill Wechsler who would make a name for himself in the New York art scene. Leo buys the painting and befriends its painter upon which Leo and his wife Erica become friends with Bill and his wife Lucille who all become closely acquainted and see each other frequently.

    ArtCenter/Istanbul is a contemporary art center project brought to life in 2008, under the aegis of Borusan Center for Culture and Arts. Under Ahmet Kocabıyık’s direction and support, its workshop facilities offered to young artists under the age of 35 and its tandem activities program aims to facilitate the type of contemporary art production that will have international repercussions.
