OPENING CONCERT

BIPO will open this season with an excellent programme that praises the long-awaited, from the very recent past to the distant past. Alice Sara Ott, one of today’s most compelling and popular pianists, is the first guest of BIPO this season. The young pianist, who completed her education at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, is regarded as one of the most successful stars of her generation. Ott, who has won first place in both the Bach Competition in Köthen and Pianello Val Tidone in Italy, and who has included works from the first half of the 20th-century in addition to her 19th-century repertoire in her highly acclaimed recordings, will be performing one of Ravel’s masterpieces, Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D Major for the opening concert. Following Ravel’s piece which narrates through music that it is possible to accept and hold on to life under every condition, BIPO will conclude the opening by performing Gustav Mahler’s turn-of-the-century masterpiece Symphony no.1, also known as “Titan”.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE AUDIENCE: All our concerts will be held under Covid-19 measures. In accordance with the circular of the Ministry of Interior, spectators will be able to enter the events by showing their vaccination cards or PCR tests with a negative result up to 48 hours ago. Controls for entry will be provided through the Hayat Eve Sığar (HES) application. Before coming to our concerts, we kindly ask our audience to download the current version of the HES application to their mobile devices and share the fields of vaccine, disease and test status.
