In the first season concert of Borusan Quartet, we will listen to the music of two master composers of the early Romantic period in European polyphonic music. The connection between the works is indicative of the friendship and deep respect that the artists had for each other. Robert Schumann's String Quartet op.41/1, completed in 1842, is dedicated to Felix Mendelssohn, who is a very close friend of Schumann and the composer of the second work we will listen. Mendelssohn's String Quartet op.44/2, completed in 1837, pays homage to Beethoven as his predecessor. Borusan Quartet welcomes the new season with a concert that brings together composers whose lives reflect the musical character of the early Romantic period.
